He was a long time resident of Savannah and more recently of Saint Mary's, Georgia.
Neill was the eldest son, born in Columbus, Georgia to Charlie Mac and Kathleen Smith.
He graduated high school in Cuthbert, Georgia in 1953 and later worked for many years at the AMF and Victory Bowling Lanes in Savannah and assisted with the Junior Bowling Association.
He is survived by his sister Fay Duty of Saint Mary's, GA; brother Ray Smith and his wife Gisela of Marietta, GA; youngest son Jeff Smith; eldest son Chuck Smith; daughter-in-law Linda; grandson Christopher and three nephews, Scott Smith, Stephen Smith, and Johnny Love.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Friends are invited to send floral arrangements or make a donation to their local Senior Citizens Center.
